    4/29 Results by Irving - 04/29/08 8:53 am

Some happenings from the Aichi big match. Suwama finally pulled off the victory he longed for against Kensuke Sasaki! The Aichi crowd was solidly behind the young ace as he pulled off a succession of big moves and finished off Sasaki with his new Frog Splash to win the Triple Crown! Osamu Nishimura lost his three match series, defeating both NOSAWA & MAZADA, but losing out to TAKEMURA, meaning that he lost the match overall. Ryuji Hijikata is also the new Jr. Heavyweight Champion, and Kaz Hayashi will be his first defense! TARU dawned all black hair for the first time in quite a while for the World Tag Title bout which was said to be pretty good as the VM combo had Muto bleeding profusely, but in the end with the overwhelming support of the Aichi crowd (most of whom where there to watch Muto win the IWGP in Osaka), the Muto/Joe combo retained the title. GURENTAI members, Taiyo Kea & Minoru Suzuki intruded after the match and nominated themselves as the next challengers to Muto & Joe's titles. Hiroshi Yamato canceled his appearance on what has been disclosed as emergency business so the opener was changed to a tag with Hajime Suruga being removed from the show.

Muto wins the IWGP! by Irving - 04/27/08 1:46 pm
All Japan triumphs again! For the second time in history, an All Japan wrestler captured New Japan's famed IWGP Heavyweight Title, with the "Wizard" himself, president Keiji Muto taking the fight to Nakamura and moonsaulting his way to his fourth title reign, and his first as a member of All Japan! Right now, All Japan is controlling the mat community with two prominent champions as Kensuke Sasaki is holding the Triple Crown, and if he gets past Suwama on 4/29, the possibility that Suwama and Sasaki could square off is very real. New Japan members, Manabu Nakanishi and Hirooki Goto have also thrown their hat in the ring to get a shot at Muto as well.

It seems as if the arguing between "GURENTAI" members, Minoru Suzuki and Taiyo Kea didn't end on 4/20 after their formation. The two have been caught arguing backstage about just who the true leader of the group will be. Is the new unit doomed from the start?

News and notes by Irving - 04/21/08 4:58 am
An interview was held from the All Japan offices today to announce the remaining cards of the current "GROWIN' UP 2008" series. Osamu Nishimura was on hand for the announcement of his match at the Aichi big match on 4/29, as he will face "GURENTAI" members, NOSAWA, MAZADA, & TAKEMURA in three singles matches on the card. The way the bout will work is there will be three seperate singles matches, almost gauntlet style. If Nishimura loses to any of the wrestlers in the match, he will automatically lose the entire bout, and the only way he can win is if he defeats ALL three members. WRESTLE GATE representatives return to the All Japan cards on 4/26 in Fukuyama as well.

    4/20 Results by Irving - 04/20/08 5:03 am
Taiyo Kea declined membership to VM and has instead formed a new unit with Minoru Suzuki and the Tokyo Gurentai! The unit will now go under the name of "GURENTAI", but the unit already had their first squabble backstage after debating on who the leader of the group would be. NOSAWA Rongai won a game of jangen, but Suzuki shot his leadership down immediately. It also seems as if Suzuki & Kea will challenge for the World Tag Titles in Aichi instead of a VM represented team.

Of course Suwama and Kensuke Sasaki clashed in the main event, which has been described as a hard hitter. Sasaki told Suwama that he wasn't ready to part with the Triple Crown and turned into "demon coach" today with Suwama describing every shot of Sasaki's being "heavy". Suwama said this has given him more motivation to "arrive" in Aichi, and that Sasaki would not leave the show with the Triple Crown.

Osamu Nishimura and TAKEMURA finally had their singles showdown, which was interrupted by NOSAWA & MAZADA, which in turn infuriated Nishimura. Nishimura told TAKEMURA that he would wrestle all three men immediately if had to in order to close that chapter of his life.

Today also saw Hiroshi Yamato become the official MC for All Japan, but TARU interrupted (sound familiar?) and eventually VM showed up one by one, bullying the young player with his first major responsibility. After TARU and VM finished their MC performance, Yamato returned to the ring and introduced a few new calls such as "All Japan Fight!" and "Flutter to tomorrow!".

News and notes by Irving - 04/19/08 6:03 am
Suwama returned to his alma mater, Chuo University for this first time since joining All Japan in 2004 and under went "starting point revolution training", saying he was highly motivated and wanted to become strong, sparring with various students at the University. Suwama promised victory in the preliminary skirmish this Sunday at Korakuen, leading to his capture of the Triple Crown in Aichi.

Voodoo Murder member, ZODIAC, will be off of the 4/20 show due to problems with his flight to Japan, so the card has been changed again. This is reminiscent of the initial "HOLD OUT TOUR" in 2004, which was plagued by injuries and card changes.

    7. Suwama & Manabu Soya vs. Kensuke Sasaki & Katsuhiko Nakajima

News and notes by Irving - 04/18/08 1:58 pm
Triple Crown champion, Kensuke Sasaki, had words for Suwama. Sasaki stated that he remembers of their first singles encounter over 3 years ago, during his trial series as young "Kohei Suwama". Sasaki stated that every year Suwama changes, but that Sasaki himself hadn't, and wasn't even looking onwards to Aichi, as he wants Suwama to bring his toughest fight to Korakuen this Sunday first.

Taiyo Kea sent in a press release stating these past few months have been the most trying for him during his 14 years as a member of All Japan. Kea acknowledged that he had been on a terrible losing streak as of late, and that TARU's constant invitation to join the Voodoo Murders hasn't made matters any easier, in fact, it's shaken him down to the very core. Kea sent a call to all of his ardent supporters from the last 14 years to show up at Korakuen this Sunday and support him, as he will tell the world of his decision then.

Due to torn ligaments in both of his legs, Kensuke Office member, Ryuji Yamaguchi, will not be able to work the upcoming "GROWIN' UP 2008" series. The final card for 4/20 was released today, and it will be airing in semi-live form on Samurai! TV. The 4/29 big match is currently assumed to be a GAORA TV taping.

TAKEMURA and Nishimura exchange words! by Irving - 04/16/08 12:23 am
Tokyo Gurentai member, TAKEMURA, thanked the All Japan directors for allowing him a singles match with Osamu Nishimura, saying that their prompt action is highly appreciated. TAKEMURA swore to strike and crush Nishimura, and told the press that he would retire Nishimura in Korakuen, and urged the fans to carry their legs to Korakuen Hall in order to view this.

Osamu Nishimura responded to TAKEMURA's comments saying that when TAKEMURA started "Muga" in 1995, he was a good friend who did both official and personal affairs, and when he joined New Japan in 2001, he remembers it like yesterday, but said that TAKEMURA will hold a grudge with him that must be settled in the middle of the ring after jumping from "Muga World" to All Japan. Nishimura said that he has seen TAKEMURA awaken after the incident in Nagano last year, and although it had been over five months since the incident that he wanted to finally hang the last conclusion in Korakuen on April 20th.

Minoru Suzuki will be holding an independent performance in June to celebrate his 20th Anniversary as a pro-wrestler, and his 40th birthday! Suzuki stated he wanted to form a card that represented all aspects of his career, with just about every organization being involved. When asked about the youngman battle royal, Suzuki stated that the guys included so far would be the ones to pull their organizations, and that them having no bond between organizations was strange and disturbing. Suzuki finished that when he approached each organization, there were no problems so for fans to expect more youngmen to fill out the battle royal.

Bad news for the Voodoo Murders. Satoshi Kojima had to urgently cancel his appearances on the upcoming tour, after suffering some nerve paralysis on his right elbow during the Champion Carnival and is undergoing immediate surgery to eleviate the injury. The returning "brother" YASSHI will take his place on 4/20 in Korakuen Hall, and for the rest of the cards on the tour.

"GROWIN' UP 2008" Cards & Other news by Irving - 04/10/08 10:52 am
Suwama (with Carnival trophy in tow) stopped by the All Japan offices today to celebrate his victory, and was in the office when some matches were announced for the upcoming series. Suwama gets his wish of making an immediate challenge to Kensuke Sasaki on 4/29, making this another important headliner for Suwama in 2008. The young ace has momentum on his side, but will he be able to reach the Triple Crown in what will be only his second shot?

    4/9 Results! by Irving - 04/09/08 7:49 am
Today's finals event was sold out in advance, and the crowd is said to be REALLY hot, even rooting behind Kojima in order to show their hate for Tanahashi. The Tanahashi/Kojima match is being quoted so far as one of the best from this year's league, with many fans giving Tanahashi the overall MVP nod. Now, it is onto the final, as PWF Commissioner, Hiroshi Hase, just made his way to ringside in order to observe. After a long battle, Suwama finally stepped up and put away New Japan's arrogant young star in Hiroshi Tanahashi, with Suwama winning his first Carnival! Both men were heavily exhausted, but the crowd supported both, demanding they stand up and take their honors. Suwama said that his victory was won in "All Japan Love", and wanted a shot at the Triple Crown to be made for All Japan's 4/29 rally in Aichi (which seems to be somewhat official)! Suwama was overwhelmed with more emotion, saying it meant a great deal for the man who started his career, Hiroshi Hase, to be the one to hand him the huge trophy, and cemented his loyalty to the former star, saying none of it would be possible without him. Masanobu Fuchi and Keiji Muto came backstage and congratulated their young star and the crew celebrated by drinking beer and having a little fun.

In non-Carnival related news, Seiya Sanada continued to spear ahead as the leading charge for the newcomer generation, defeating another senior roster member, this time in Hirai. Sanada is gaining great confidence in his abilities, and is looking to move up the ladder more in his second year, with him making a mark in the Carnival this year. Ryuji Hijikata also suffered a direct defeat at the hands of Junior Champion, Silver King. Hopefully this hasn't shaken Hijikata's confidence as he has his greatest chance at acclaiming his first singles title as a member of All Japan later in the month agasint Silver King in Aichi.

The biggest story out of today has to be another clean win by Joe Doering, this time over Nishimura. No one pegged the future gaijin ace to this far in his first tournament, and now all he has to do is get past Kensuke Sasaki and Suwama, which is much more easier said than done.

Taiyo Kea continues his slump with TARU continuously trying to coax him into becoming a member of the alliance he's fought against since it's very inception, VM. Kea hasn't given an answer as he just leaves whenever TARU bombards him with offers to enter the stable, so the big question is whether or not Kea will join former bestbud Kojima, but this time, as a heel.
